She’s back! Debra Messing hits the beach as she looks set for return to TV screens

Debra Messing fans haven’t seen much of the actress since she ended her eight-year  run in Will & Grace.

But the 41-year-old could soon be back on the small screen after she was optioned to shoot a second pilot for the ABC series Wright Vs Wrong.

If commissioned the series would only be Messing’s second project since finishing her run as Grace Adler in 2006.

The actress looked as if she had something to celebrate as she visited the beach in Malibu over the July 4th holiday weekend.

With her family and friends gathered together, she sunbathed in a red bikini and white sun hat, before pulling on a patterned sundress to walk on the beach.

Messing was a virtual unknown when she was picked to play the lovable character of Grace in 1998.

Then 30, she was relatively old by Hollywood standards and was considering taking a break from acting.

The role made her famous, and during it’s run she starring  in a clutch of big screen movies.

After leaving the show Messing appeared in the mini-series The Starter Wife. She reprised her role for a second series in 2008.

She has a four-year-old son, Roman, with husband Daniel Zelman.

Debra Messing Talks Will & Grace Movie

With Sex & The Citybeing made into a movie, we’re getting greedy and want all our favorite shows to do the same! Come on, Seinfeld, Friends, and Will & Grace!
Hollyscoop caught up with Debra Messing at the Crystal + Lucy Awards this week and asked her point blank: Will there be a Will & Grace movie in the future???
Debra laughed about the rumor, saying, “Oh my gosh, really?? That is news to me! This is literally the first time I’ve heard that.”
Ok, ok, we admit. We started the rumor. But is it so far off? Come on! While they’re may not be any plans for a film, Messing said she is down to do a reunion show.
“You know,” Debra told us. “I guess people always ask if we would have a reunion show and I would always say-Unfortunately because our season finale it skips ahead 25 years so you already know what happens.”
We had to go back and re-watch the last episode, and she’s totally right! But we still think it could work. If Carrie and the girls can still pull it off, so can Will, Grace, Jack, and Karen!
She added, “So either you would have to do a Geriatric Will and Grace, which can work, or an entire rock/opera fantasy. It would be a challenge I think to come up with a story. But I never say never.”

Scene & Heard: Women in Film Crystal + Lucy Awards

Except for the cocktail dresses, the Women in Film Crystal + Lucy Awards had a distinctly relaxed quality. So much so that before the evening ended, host Debra Messing removed her shoes.
“I had to do it,” she declared from the podium, her red-heeled Louboutins dangling from one hand.
On ascending the stage, Emily Blunt followed suit. True to the event name, this was “A New Era.”
Blunt presented the Crystal Award to Universal Pictures Co-Chairman Donna Langley; Laura Dern gave Courteney Cox the Lucy Award, named for industry icon Lucille Ball; and Nicola Maramotti of MaxMara honored Zoe Saldana as the “Face of the Future.”
The June 1 fundraiser also honored cinematographer Cynthia Pusheck and director Lisa Cholodenko, and attracted 900 high-powered guests to the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza Hotel. They included presenters Sally Field and Rachel Griffiths; Vanessa Hudgens, who introduced screen legend Eva Marie Saint; Women in Film President Jane Fleming and outgoing WIF foundation Chairwoman Sharon Lawrence; and actors Jennifer Aniston, David Arquette, Nikki Reed, Maggie Grace, Busy Philipps and Leslie Mann; as well as director Judd Apatow, who came to cheer the award recipients.
WIF helps women in the entertainment industry through contacts, services and programs in education, funding, employment access and other areas.

Straight Up Style With Debra Messing

Cool article from http://www.dailymakeover.com

I love it when my Gibson Girls mix things up with their hair. A few weeks ago I got to to do just that with my girl Debra Messing, who was attending Mariska Hargitay’s Joyful Heart Foundation Gala.

There was actually a strict dress code at this event: Everyone had to wear black jeans or leggings, so Debra paired her black leggings with this futuristic, silvery one-shoulder top and some amazing Pucci heels. Debra is a curly girl at heart, but I took one look at her outfit and knew we weren’t going to be able to do what I call the Classic Debra Messing Curl & Wave. Since her outfit was so strong and modern, I knew we had to go for a strong and modern hairstyle. We talked it over and decided to do sleek, straight hair with a dramatic side-part.

I started off with wet hair using L’Oréal Professionnel Texture Expert Expansion Body Activating Mousse and Build It Blow Drying Agent and created that deep side part. I then blew her hair dry with an amazing Denman brush to help create that straightness and close down the cuticle for ultimate shine. Next I took a Ted Gibson flat iron, heated up to 350 degrees, to smooth out her hair. It’s important to have it at that high of a heat because Debra’s hair texture is so curly and can be on the coarser side, so it needs a bit more heat to make it stay smooth and sleek.

I finished up by spraying her hair with Beautiful Hold Hair Spray and tucked one side of her hair behind her ear. You’ll notice I do that alot, with Debra in particular. That’s because she has such an amazing taste in jewelry and I want to be sure that her hairstyle doesn’t cover it up and instead helps to show it off.

Remember, Beauty Is Individual!

No Will And Grace reunion planned

Megan Mullally has revealed there are currently no plans to reunite the cast of Will And Grace.

The US actress-singer, who played outspoken Karen Walker, has kept in touch with co-stars Debra Messing (Grace), Eric McCormack (Will) and Sean Hayes (Jack) since the American sitcom ended in 2006.

“There’s been no talk of any kind of reunion show or movie or anything like that but you never know - it’s getting to be the right time to have a little party of some sort and reunite,” she said.

Megan - who’s currently performing with her band Supreme Music Program at London’s Vaudeville Theatre - had hoped the show would have continued for two more seasons.

“I don’t know if I was disappointed, I mean, all things must pass,” she said.

“On the one hand it seemed like the right time and on the other hand, I personally think it could have gone for two more seasons, but not everybody agreed with that, even some of the cast and some of the writers. So because of that, you know, you have to kind of go along with everything.”

She added: “I wasn’t disappointed, no, it definitely felt like the right time for it to end but at the same time, in an alternate universe I think it could have gone a little bit longer.”

:: Megan Mullally And Supreme Music Program are performing at London’s Vaudeville Theatre until February 21.

EQCA Honors Proponents Of Gay Rights

Equality California (EQCA) honored gay rights proponents Saturday at its annual awards ceremony in Palm Springs.
Over 400 people attended the Equality Awards, one of the group’s largest events and fundraisers, held at the Riviera Resort & Spa.
“This raises the funds that allows us to do the work,” Geoff Kors, executive director of Equality California, told The Desert Sun.
The group honored Emmy award-winning actress Debra Messing with a Lifetime Ally Award.
Messing, who played Grace Adler on the hit NBC show Will & Grace, is a strong supporter of gay and lesbian rights.
“For me, it’s a no-brainer,” she told the paper. “Equal rights means equal rights for everyone.”
Also recognized were the efforts of California Assemblyman V. Manuel Perez, an ardent supporter of gay marriage. Perez, a Democrat from Coachella, called marriage a “civil rights issue.”
“I decided very early on that I was going to stand up for what I believe in when it comes to civil rights, and that includes the LGBT community,” Perez said.
EQCA is California’s largest group dedicated to gay and lesbian rights.
